STENCIL - Science Teaching European Network for Creativity and Innovation in Learning

Our founding partner from Malta introduces its project, STENCIL!

"STENCIL - Science Teaching European Network for Creativity and Innovation in Learning - is a project that has been running since January 2011. This project offers the opportunity to colleagues from all over Europe to present their own projects. Apart from having the ability to showcase what you are currently doing during your science lessons, this network gives you, as teachers, the opportunity to get inspired and search in over 900 initiatives for science education projects which you can eventually implement in your own classes.

Last November in Nancy, France, the STENCIL consortium organised the 1st International conference where 2 important outputs of the project have been presented in preview: the STENCIL Annual Report/eBook and the Call for Proposals.

The first Annual Report n.1 highlights the results on the current science education policies and trends by the STENCIL partners as well as detailed descriptions of innovative practices identified at national and European level, including Comenius and other EU funded projects. This Annual Report can be downloaded from http://www.stencil-science.eu/annual_reports.php.

STENCIL is also launching an annual Call for Participants to schools, who have carried out the successful transfer of good practice amongst those highlighted in the Annual Report. The 2 winners can choose one of the following prizes, each of them of a value of 1.000 Euros:

• Science kits or materials to be used for science education activities at their school; or
• A grant covering travel and subsistence costs to participate in the 2nd STENCIL international conference in Kassel (DE) in winter 2012 with the aim of presenting the winning project at an international audience."
